To determine whether AKT and mTOR blockade could inhibit tumour growth, tumour cells were harvested from a human prostate cancer xenograft, (derived from a patient with hormone-naïve Gleason 7 disease), and were subsequently treated with either 10 μM AZD7328, 10 μM KU-0063794 or a combination of 10 + 10, for 72 hours. This evidence concerns the gene MTOR and prostate cancer.
