The inactivation of the Akt and ERK signaling pathways by Baicalein is achieved through downregulation of NEDD9, which is consistent with the previous findings that NEDD9 knockout in a mouse breast cancer model decreases cell proliferation through inhibiting its direct partner FAK and Src, further lowering the Ras-related signaling Akt, ERK and SHCA [45]. This evidence concerns the gene PTK2 and breast cancer.
