Several studies revealed significant associations between arterial stiffness and inflammatory markers, such as WBC, NLR, adhesion molecules, fibrinogen, CRP, hsCRP, cytokines, microRNAs, and COX-2 in patients with metabolic syndrome, diabetes mellitus, coronary heart disease, systemic and pulmonary hypertension, peripheral arterial disease, malignant and inflammatory rheumatic disorders, polycystic kidney disease, renal transplant, FMF, in women with preeclampsia or after menopause, and in patients with severe periodontitis. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and coronary artery disorder.
