GNLY and diabetes mellitus: As shown in Fig 5A, at the end of treatment, the circulating levels of cathelicidin (GM of 2.4 ng/ml at post-T compared to 3.9 ng/ml at pre-T) and HBD2 (GM of 28.5 pg/ml at post-T compared to 72.6 pg/ml at pre-T) were significantly diminished, while the circulating levels of HNP1-3 (GM of 2.4 ng/ml at post-T compared to 3.9 ng/ml at pre-T) and granulysin (GM of 28.5 pg/ml at post-T compared to 72.6 pg/ml at pre-T) were significantly increased compared to pre-treatment levels in PTB-DM individuals.
