IL10 and periodontal disorder: To elucidate the mechanism involved in β-glucans action, this study aimed to evaluate the immune response through a determination of the blood levels of interleukins like TNF-α and IL-10; intestinal morphology; alveolar bone loss via scanning electron microscopy and histometry; and pancreatic β-cell function in diabetic rats with periodontal disease while ingesting β-glucans from Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
