Recently, Shi and colleagues in 2017 reported that inhibited expression by shRNAs of the lncRNA ROR (regulator of reprogramming) in chemo-resistant lung cancer cells A549/DDP correlates with decreased expression of mRNA and protein of the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway and Bcl-2, while it relates to increased expression of the pro-apoptotic Bax protein, which promotes sensitivity to cisplatinum-induced apoptosis, inhibits cellular proliferation, as well as migration and invasion in vitro and in vivo. Here, AKT1 is linked to lung carcinoma.
