Interesting examples here include synthetically engineered microRNAs targeting the MYC proto-oncogene (c-Myc) gene, which were shown to inhibit proliferation and induce apoptosis in bladder cancer cells (Fu et al., 2015), and the usage of aptamers to induce tumor cell death by destabilizing the apoptosis regulator bcl-2 (Soundararajan et al., 2008). This evidence concerns the gene MYC and urinary bladder carcinoma.
