SEMA6A and granulomatosis with polyangiitis: Intriguingly, although the mechanism for the male-specific association of SEMA6A with KD remains unknown, the SEMA6A locus has been reported to be a significant contributor to risk for granulomatosis with polyangiitis, which is a systemic vasculitis characterized by vessel inflammation and granuloma formation affecting the respiratory tract, kidneys, and other organs and tissues [43].
