FMO5 and epilepsy: Table 1 summarizes studies that have looked at the role of NADPH oxidase in epilepsy. It should be noted that some of the studies on the involvement of NADPH oxidase in epilepsy used non-subtype specific NADPH oxidase inhibitors such as apocynin and AEBSF (4-(2-aminoethyl)benzenesulfonyl fluoride hydrochloride) and thus, no conclusion on the isoforms of NADPH oxidase activation can be drawn [14,118].
