Liver NK cells mediate hepatocyte toxicity in MHV-3-induced FHF both through Fas/FasL and NKG2D/NKG2DL pathways [38], kill freshly isolated hepatocytes by a TRAIL/TRAIL receptor pathway in polyinosinic-polycytidylic acid-induced mouse liver injury [39], and induce severe liver injury through NKG2D/NKG2D ligand (NKG2DL) recognition after low-dose ConA stimulation in HBV transgenic mice [19]. This evidence concerns the gene FASLG and injury.
