This is consistent with previous studies of LGR5 in various cancers including basal cell carcinoma, gastric cancer, glioblastoma and colorectal carcinomas.16, 20, 29, 30 Sun et al.31 reported that LGR5 expression was associated with poor clinical survival of patients with cervical cancer, especially Stage II patients, indicating that high LGR5-expressing cells might be more aggressive and progress more quickly. The gene discussed is LGR5; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
