While there were no differences in fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, or homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) (p > 0.057 for all comparisons, Table 3), within females, a high fat diet increased area under the curve (AUC) (female LF+ vs. HF+: p = 0.006, Figure 7C) and GTT peak concentration (female LF+ 11.93 ± 1.34 mmol/L, female HF+ 16.30 ± 1.79 mmol/L: p = 0.001, Supplementary Figure S2A).
