Compared to female mice, males had higher AUC (male vs. female within LF: p < 0.001, Figure 7D; within HF: p = 0.02, Table 2), GTT peak (male 15.08 ± 1.52 mmol/L vs. female 12.05 ± 1.60 mmol/L within LF: p < 0.001, Supplementary Figure S2B), HOMA-IR (male vs. female within LF: p = 0.046, Table 4 within HF: p = 0.04, Table 2), and within a high fat diet at least, fasting insulin (p = 0.004, Table 2) indicating greater insulin resistance. This evidence concerns the gene INS and hydrops fetalis.
