Urothelial cancer-associated 1 (UCA1) is known for its role in bladder cancer progression and embryologic development, and in two separate investigations47, 48 has recently been shown to be upregulated in PDAC tissues (versus matched adjacent normal pancreas tissue), to be associated with several prognostic factors (such as stage, tumor size, and grade), and shorter survival. This evidence concerns the gene UCA1 and urinary bladder carcinoma.
