As shown in Fig. S5A in the supplemental material, zinc almost completely abrogated p65 binding to the proximal site in the iNos promoter after Salmonella infection as well as to promoters of other classical p65 target genes, Icam and Cxcl2. Zinc chelation in turn increased the affinity of p65 for both binding sites in the iNos promoter region (Fig. S8A). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL2 and Salmonella Infections.
