These data stand in contrast to reports in HFD-fed DUSP6 KO mice [23,40] or HFD-fed mice with an antisense oligonucleotide-driven knockdown of hepatic DUSP6 [53], which revealed improved glucose homeostasis concomitant with a protection from obesity after DUSP6 inactivation. This evidence concerns the gene DUSP6 and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
