Haemoglobin (Hb) level at enrolment was negatively associated with the risk of recurrent infection with P. vivax (AHR = 0.88 [0.80–0.98], p=0.019) and P. falciparum (AHR = 0.90 [0.80–1.02], p=0.099). The gene discussed is GSTM1; the disease is infection.
