The recent retrospective study by Pahade et al. [20] showed that the incidence of AKI following non-ionic contrast medium administration (ioversol or iodixanol) in patients with MM with a normal SCr is low and correlates with β2-microglobulin levels (which increase both with higher tumour burden and diminished renal function). This evidence concerns the gene HLA-G and Miyoshi myopathy.
