PLAT and intracranial hemorrhage: Tightness of the BBB at the time of thrombolytic intervention is an important factor determining the efficacy of thrombolysis with tPA (Benchenane et al., 2005; Leigh et al., 2014, 2016) and ischemic BBB damage within thrombolytic time window is a promising target (Jin et al., 2014; Liu J. et al., 2016) for clinical intervention to reduce intracranial hemorrhage in patients with intravenous tPA (Leigh et al., 2014) or post-endovascular treatment (Leigh et al., 2016).
