Decreased expression of genes in two of the enriched pathways, phagocytosis, and lipid synthesis (shown in red in Supplementary Table 9), overlapped with the members of two atherosclerosis-associated networks we identified in MESA (CMTN and module 39—enriched for the phagosome formation pathway, Supplementary Table 3), which suggests ARID5B may contribute to the gene network associations with atherosclerosis. This evidence concerns the gene ARID5B and atherosclerosis.
