F8 and hemophilia B: For example, at least five reported cases of hemophilia A have been linked to germline MEIs that disrupted the coagulation factor VIII (F8) gene (Kazazian et al. 1988; Van de Water et al. 1998; Sukarova et al. 2001; Ganguly et al. 2003), and another six cases of hemophilia B have been linked to germline MEIs that disrupted the coagulation factor IX (F9) gene (Vidaud et al. 1993; Wulff et al. 2000; Li et al. 2001; Mukherjee et al. 2004; Nakamura et al. 2015).
