In this study, we cultured colon cancer cells in endothelial-inducing conditioned medium and observed that poorly differentiated human colon cancer cells (HCT116) could express endothelial markers (cluster of differentiation (CD) 31, CD34, and VE-cadherin) and had increased ability to form tube-like structures in 3D culture in vitro. This evidence concerns the gene CD34 and malignant colon neoplasm.
