This ability of kisspeptin-54 to stimulate gonadotropin secretion in response to a patient's endogenous GnRH reserve, without causing excessive response is of particular value in women undergoing IVF treatment at high risk of developing OHSS in individualizing the LH-response achieved following the second dose of kisspeptin-54. The gene discussed is GNRH1; the disease is ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
