The 3′ member of the KRI1-ATRX fusion (ATRX) has been previously associated with childhood neuroblastoma [81] and the 3′ member of the CACNA1D-CTNNBL1 fusion (CTNNBL1), is associated with an anti-apoptotic, tumor suppressive function [82, 83] consistent with its reduced expression in our breast cancer samples. This evidence concerns the gene ATRX and breast cancer.
