In accordance with our results, N. Takai et al. also documented that endometrial and ovarian cancer cell lines (Ishikawa, HHUA, HEC-1B, SK-OV-3 and OMC-3) were sensitive to the growth-inhibitory effect of bufalin and their exposure to bufalin increased the proportion in the G0/G1 phases of the cell cycle, which might be related to the up-regulation of p21WAF1 and decreased expression of cyclin A and cyclin D3 (Takai et al., 2008).
