An additional mechanism underlying AceDoPC’s effects on IL-6 induced-STAT3 phosphorylation could be linked to the decreased expression of gp130, the co-receptor of IL-6. Recent studies highlight that gp130/STAT3 phosphorylation is involved in the pro-inflammatory activity of IL-6, while gp130 mediates IL-6 effect on tissue repair and recovery after infection [70]. This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and infection.
