The MMP-3 serum level in prostate cancer patients with high-grade (Gleason score ≥ 8, n = 40) tumors was 39,883 ± 32,333 pg/ml, which was significantly higher than that in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) (14,494 ± 4,484 pg/ml, n = 12). This evidence concerns the gene MMP3 and prostate cancer.
