In the present study, we investigated the relationship between anthropometric traits including BMI, a widespread measure for monitoring the prevalence of obesity at the population level, and selected genetic variants, namely BsmI, FokI, ApaI, EcoRV (GATA) and TaqI in the VDR gene, in the Central-European obese and lean population. This evidence concerns the gene VDR and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
