The overall expression pattern of JAG1 is similar to that of the gene Coagulation Factor III (F3) (correlation >  0.7), genetic polymorphisms of which have been shown to be associated with T2D in different ethnicity groups (Palmer et al., 2012; Yamada et al., 2006; Yamaguchi et al., 2007) and the expression of which is significantly higher in monocytes and neutrophils of diabetes and prediabetic subjects (Ichikawa et al., 1998). This evidence concerns the gene JAG1 and diabetes mellitus.
