In an arthritis model induced by complete Freund’s adjuvant (CFA) injection in C57BL/6 mice, deletion of transient receptor potential/vanilloid receptor subtype 1 (TRPV1) attenuated joint and paw swelling, mechanical hyperalgesia, synovial inflammation, bone erosion, and cartilage damage in the early disease phase (≤5 weeks)11–13. Here, TRPV1 is linked to arthritic joint disease.
