Correlation between plasma G-CSF concentration and frequency of circulating CD11b−CD66b+ cells from the same patients showed us that, while there was no correlation between these parameters in patients with cervicitis or high grade CIN, there was a moderate positive correlation between these two parameters in patients with cancer (Fig. 7C), indicating that this cytokine may have a role in the accumulation of these cells in the blood of cancer patients.
