Additionally, ovarian cancer patients with a tumor gene signature indicative of YAP activation had significantly higher platelet counts at time of diagnosis compared to patients who lacked this kind of signature, further supporting a link between platelet counts and YAP1. Moreover, we show that thrombocytosis-induced metastasis is completely blunted by YAP1 inhibition in vivo. The gene discussed is YAP1; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
