We compared those robustly co‐expressed genes with FASN in HCC CN (Dataset EV12) with the top 100 co‐expressed genes in CNs of 46 human tissues (Dataset EV10) and found PKLR, patatin‐like phospholipase domain containing 3 (PNPLA3), and proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), referred to as liver‐specific genes, as the only genes co‐expressed with FASN in less than three human tissues (Fig 3A). This evidence concerns the gene FASN and hepatocellular carcinoma.
