The ELISA results showed that the level of TNF-α in the plasma of FM patients was much higher than that of healthy individuals (Figure 4A left panel) and the level of TNF-α in the sera of PbANKA-infected mice, detected along the infectious periods, quickly elevated to a peak at day 3 post-infection and then started to decline (Figure 4A right panel).
