Furthermore, one of us (JWD) has reported previously that deficiencies in one or more vertebrate enzymes of the N-glycan branching pathway (comprising Mgat1/GnT1, alpha-mannosidase II/ManII, Mgat2, Mgat4, and Mgat5 activity—see [61]) modifies tumor growth and reduces cell migration, invasion and metastasis [29, 61–63]. This evidence concerns the gene MGAT1 and neoplasm.
