Expression levels of several marker genes for fatty acid synthesis (e.g., Srebp1c and others) and adipocyte differentiation (e.g., Pparγ and others) in KKAy mice iWAT showed a progressive tendency to increase with the development of obesity, whereas CoQ10H2 supplementation significantly prevented these changes, suggesting that metabolic dysfunction of adipose tissue is mitigated by dietary supplementation with CoQ10H2. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
