KRIT1 and cerebral cavernous malformation: Finally, we demonstrated that limiting ROS levels, either by introducing ROS scavenging enzymes into the blood, or by treating with recombinant yeast avenanthramide I, was able to block KRIT1 depletion-dependent increased permeability in vitro and in vivo, thus supporting the idea that antioxidant therapy could be a potential treatment for CCM.
