A recent genomic analysis comparing pretreatment and progression biopsy samples from melanoma patients who initially experienced an objective response on anti-PD-1 therapy showed that resistance was associated with: diminished antigen-presentation due to a defective beta-2-microglubulin (B2M) protein or impaired interferon-receptor signaling due to truncated Janus Kinase 1 (JAK1) or Janus Kinase 2 (JAK2) proteins [22]. This evidence concerns the gene B2M and melanoma.
