In addition to the strong reduced risk of cervical neoplasia associated with HLA-B*15, the haplotype HLA-DRB1*1301/HLA-DQB1*0603 (and in some analyses HLA-DQA1*0103) was associated with reduced risk of squamous cell cancer, adenocarcinoma, and HPV16- and HPV18-related cervical neoplasia. This evidence concerns the gene HLA-DRB1 and squamous cell carcinoma.
