MMP3 and preeclampsia: Elevated concentrations of MMP-3 in pregnancies complicated by early-onset preeclampsia and nonaltered ones in pregnancies complicated by late-onset preeclampsia can also indicate the importance of the process of altered trophoblast invasion for the early subtype of the disorder, sometimes called the fetal type, and a less significant role of MMP-3 in late-onset preeclampsia, called well the maternal type, where clinical symptoms appear later.
