TET2 and atherosclerosis: Fuster et al. (2017) found that TET2 knockout in macrophages aggravates inflammation and accelerates atherosclerosis in LDLR-/- mice. Our group previously reported that TET2 improves low shear stress induced-endothelial cell dysfunction (Yang et al., 2016), and inhibits atherosclerosis via upregulating autophagy activity and downregulating the expression of inflammation factors in ApoE-/- mice (Peng et al., 2016).
