IGFBP-3 associates with Nur77 in the cytoplasm, and Nur77 induces cell death possibly by interacting with Bcl-2, promoting the release of Beclin-1 and the induction of autophagy.25, 26 Our co-immunoprecipitation experiments showed that Nur77 interacted with Bcl-2, suggesting that a similar mechanism may be involved in the induction of autophagy and airway remodeling in asthma. The gene discussed is NR4A1; the disease is asthma.
