Several investigations indicated that XPG is related to carcinogenesis and prognosis of various types of cancer.[17–19] Notably, genetic variations in the XPG gene show significant association with the risk of various cancers.[20–22] In addition, some meta-analysis focusing on one of XPG polymorphisms and cancer risk revealed that XPG rs17655 contributed to cancer susceptibility.[13,23] However, the association between other polymorphisms and cancer risk remains controversial.
