Irradiation and a special form of immunotherapy prevented distant metastases in the lung when primary tumors of a melanoma B16 line overexpressing CC chemokine receptor-7, or the breast cancer cell line 4T1, were irradiated with 2 × 12 Gy followed by adenoviral transduction with LIGHT, a TNF superfamily member, which enhances host immune responses (69). Here, CCR7 is linked to melanoma.
