Studies done in mice models with anti-GBM glomerulonephritis, demonstrating low tissue VEGFR, VEFGR-2, Ang-1 and Tie 2 expression and treatment with VEGF165 led to improvement of renal function and proteinuria though recovery of crescentic lesions, proliferation of endothelial cells, and capillary repair. This evidence concerns the gene KDR and glomerulonephritis.
