Vitamin D appears to have anti-tissue remodeling activities related to its modulation of myofibroblast differentiation and ECM production in NPDFs under TGF-β1 stimulation via blockade of TGF-β1-Smad2/3 signaling pathways and hyperacetylation of histone 3, which could contribute to the treatment and prevention of nasal polyps.
