Notably, the finding that the ZIKV–human interaction proteins are involved in the death receptor signaling pathway implies that ZIKV infection induces brain disorders during fetal development via apoptosis or cell death, which are related to P53 signaling and the direct interaction of P53 with the MDM2 protein (Yang et al., 2008; Bhuvanakantham et al., 2010) in Figure 2.
