Systolic and diastolic blood pressure (BP), as well as plasma triacylglycerols (TAG), apolipoprotein (Apo)-B, insulin, and homeostatic model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR), were higher in children with obesity, whereas the quantitative insulin sensitivity check index (QUICKI), plasma total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-c) and Apo-AI were lower in this group when compared with normal-weight children. This evidence concerns the gene INS and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
