Considering that in humans, p16INK4a T cell expression correlated with self-reported fatigue in the context of breast cancer [173], and that exercise is recommended for its fatigue-countering effects [177, 178], then it might be that some of the exercise-induced benefits for patients with cancer are, in part, brought about by interaction with p16INK4a.
