However, in subjects with MetS, despite the increased of hepcidin, serum ferritin levels were increased, and both hepcidin and ferritin levels were increased as increasing of MetS components.(19,20) In the present study, ferritin and 25(OH)D level increased in women with MetS than in women without MetS, but Fe and TFS level decreased in women with MetS than in women without MetS. This evidence concerns the gene HAMP and metabolic syndrome.
