GZMA and typhoid fever: Both granzyme A and B were elevated in the plasma of patients with typhoid fever compared to healthy controls (median 16 IQR [8.8–33] versus 5.7 [3.7–7.1] pg/ml, P<0.001, and median 23.3 IQR [5.5–51.3] versus 3.2, [2.4–7.8] pg/ml, P<0.001 respectively; Fig 1A–1B).
